The proposed 4-year programme is designed to admit full-time students under the JUPAS scheme. Non-JUPAS applicants (e.g. General Certificate of Education (GCE) A-level or other qualifications) will be considered on individual merits.

JUPAS Applicants

JUPAS applicants will need to fulfil the following minimum requirements in HKDSE or its equivalent:

  • Level 3 or above in English Language;

  • Level 3 or above in Chinese Language;

  • Level 2 or above in Mathematics;

  • Level 2 or above in Liberal Studies; and

  • Level 2 or above in one elective subject

  • Complete Year 1 study of a recognised Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programme; or

  • Obtain Grade E or above in AS Chinese Language & Culture and Use of English, and 2 AL/1 AL plus 2 AS/4 AS subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (or equivalent).

Non-JUPAS applicants with non-local academic qualifications will need to fulfil the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade E or above in 2 AL/1 AL plus 2 AS subjects in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) AL/International AL; or

  • An overall minimum score of 24 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma; or

  • Other equivalent overseas academic qualifications (as determined by the Open University of Hong Kong).

And all applicants are required to meet the English language requirements set out by the University

General Admission Requirements

Fore more detail information to be considered for admission to this programme, students shall have to satisfy the General Admission Requirements set by The Open University of Hong Kong and the specific requirements of the programme.​


JUPAS applicants:

There is NO admission interview for year 1 JUPAS applicants.


Non-JUPAS applicants:

There will be an admission interview for selected applicants who have satisfied the general admission requirements.
